Planning's role is to manage new development so that it takes place in accordance with the development plan and other land use based polices of the Council and government. Development includes both building work and changes of use.

Planning applications are made to the Council for all sorts of development, from house extensions to the developments at Alnwick Garden. The purpose of this web site is to allow our customers to access applications and other information on planning held by the Council.
